Hi everyone
I'm new to FF but am having so much fun with all the possibilities. I'm wondering if it is possible to use filter forge to create a seamless tile from an image with no further additions. what i mean is, suppose i import an image from photoshop which is 'perfect' and i do not wish to apply further edits to, but it does not tile seamlessly. can i use FF to match up the edges (or whatever magical mojo the program pulls off) to take my image and make it tile, without any further additions from FF apart from the symmetry? Thanks all, input is greatly appreciated ![]() |

I think you are looking for this program:ImageSynth. There are some filters for FF that does some kind of seamlessness of images, but non of them is even remotely close to ImageSynth. But when it comes to generate seamless textures from scratch, FF is outstanding, I use both programs.

I have both ImageSynth and Genetica 3.5. They both work but Genetica has more ways to make a photo seamless.

With the new scripting components, maybe it is time to create a real seamless filter.. hmm. The race is on!

Thanks both for the advice.
I tried Imagesynth but to be honest, never really understood the program, I didn't find it very intuitive, but I will have to apply myself to learn. Genetica looks amazing, but AFAIK it is Windows only? A bummer for me, I'm a Mac guy ![]() Guess I better get back to trying to make imagesynth work.. thanks to both oncemore ![]() |

^^Does an amazing job. See: http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...#nav_start for some discussion about the topic and one of my half hearted attempts. With the new V2 bombers, you could likely do another even more powerful interpretation of this. In addition, filterforge has some "color adjusting tools" See: http://www.filterforge.com/filters/4448.html for one really powerful filter that will help you tweak the texture so when it tiles it's much nicer looking. |
