Im sure Krae is gonna answer with "Theres already a forum for this nub!" (Not so harshley I'm exagerating) But I was scanning the back of the forums and saw a post about HDRI images, and wondered if there is anywhere you can download them from? Secondly, it be cool if the FF team put out a few new ones for Download... this isnt a wishlist but anyone know of a site or something?

yes, there is a place or two you can download them from, and yes, this conversation has occurred before
 it's ok, crystic, i wont bite too hard you can also make your own right in FF. ah! you say. yep, you can make your own within FF. take any .jpg, change the '.jpg' extension to '.exr' and use the import function built into FF. be careful, however. these can take a VERY long time to render. the old recommendation was to use something like no larger than 200 x 400 or 400 x 400 or something along those lines. and even those will take a while.
now, i havent done these in a while, so i might have some of that data wrong. you'd be best off if you found those older threads with the original data from the FF team If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

aww, now i'm crushed!
what we really need is a place to exchange our custom lighting environments... somewhere on this web site, preferably. i've gotten one or two from some of the others here, and i have some i could put up also, but there's just no common place to do this right now and that makes it harder than it shld be. also, dilla didnt point you to the other web sites where .exr's and such are available, being discussed, being developed and everything else related. note that you'll often see HDR, HDRI and .exr used very frequently together. here's a good web site to get started: http://gl.ict.usc.edu/HDRShop/ and that one will most likely also lead you to this one: http://www.openexr.com/index.html . so, that's to make up for biting you so hard If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

 Saweet, I was just wondering because if I took textures and used an image of the skybox im using... and then ran it over the textures and put them in game Im sure it would at to the "feel."We walk through life building our castles but far to many cease to build the foundations. |
