1. When I download a filter, Vista tells me that a website wants to open outside of protected mode. That doesn't exactly sound like something I want to do, but there doesn't seem to be any other way to download them.

2. What do you backup so if you have a system crash you don't have to download everything again?

3. When you open a filter in FF, the preset all appear and sometimes the display window updates. But that green bar is still working. Does that mean that it's still downloading and you need to wait for it to finish?

the site is fine. tell vista to go to hell smile:)

backup the entire 'my filters' folder, generally found in c:\documents and settings\(your account name)\application data\ .

in the main window, with the presets on the left and the main rendering window on the middle and right, top to bottom, the bar under that is the rendering bar, not a download bar. it may appear that a rendering is done when looking at the image, but remember, if anti-aliasing is turned on, sometimes you cant hardly tell by watching the image that something is still going on. (and on my machine, that bar is blue).
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
