i'd like some text boxes. just something that i can label certain components with. for instance, a text box next to the 'color' component would be helpful. most folks are going to figure out that they can indeed pick a color in the filter and change it, but a small text box next to the color box would be nice. 'click here to change colors'...something like that. maybe a 'text' box could be made as a component and plugged into other components?

yes, something along those lines would be helpful. something that we can use to tell others how to work things or suggestions to try. i know you have the exif type data, 'descriptions', 'updates' and so on, but that's somewhat hidden from the user. and yes, including pre-sets with a filter also helps, but i just found that, even though your interface is very inutitive, something just a bit more upfront on the main interface would be useful at times.

as far as attaching the 'notes' to components, maybe a small dot or button on the component that when clicked would open a drop down note about the button. it's really not a big item and if it doesnt make it in, that's fine. it was really only on the 'colors' component in a finished filter that i thought maybe there shld be something to alert the user.
