I understand that Filter Forge is a Photoshop plugin, so how do you actually import the filters into Photoshop?

The filters you create will always reside within the FilterForge interface. You can't access them individually from a Photoshop menu. (It would be great if you could though)

Ok, then how do you choose the background image used by a filter? I mean, if you want to work with more than just a boat's throwable life preserver?

The "background image" is only a life preserver in stand-alone mode. From photoshop it will be the existing image your applying the filter to.

So you don't see FilterForge under your Photoshop Filter menu?

If that's the case you may need to reinstall the program and ensure the plugin component is installed to the proper photoshop plugin folder.

ok now that you've told me that, I've used windows explorer to move the plugin to the right location myself, no reinstall necessary. and now it shows up in the Photoshop filter menu. Problem solved. Thank you.
