			ok,

I bought the $99 version of FF. So I cannot sell commercial copies of any textures I "create" in FF by altering the sliders of an exsisting pre made filter? And if thats so..what about versions of earlier textures I created doing just that? I do not sell on websites but inside Seconf Life and to be honest 50% of the time I will use say the superb moody lighting effects on a my own textures like the sample I have attached. Or I will run one of the metal filters over a bump map of a stone tile.. Obviously copyright is something I am aware of with my own work but never encountered one like this before. Rightly or wrongly ( morally speaking ) I purchased this plugin because at the time I had legal rights to use the filters and create my own textures much like Texture Maker or Genetica I guess. So to have the EUAL changed "after" purchase is a little annoying. Please dont flame me I totally understand your issues here but at the time your filters were uploaded for use by the FF customers the EUAL " did" allow others to tweak and sell textures created by tweaking filters. Infact I believe they advertised it that way in the wording. Or have I got that wrong? I guess not or else they wouldnt be changing the license as they have. I have said all along the "creaters" of FF should be the people creating filters if they want to sell this to a broad market of users. People like is "because" its easy to use and "because" they dont have to learn the complex issues of making filters..thats why they buy the $99 version. I am sure I will be thrown to the wolves but please remember I am here asking because I DO care and dont want to breach anyones rights...or new rights.. ( ? ) |

			What new EULA???

The new EULA will probably be implemented with V2.....with which V1 filters will not be compatible.....and thus only affect V2 filters...... Steve

			Many thanks.

I get it now! So as long as I stick to Version 1 Im ok Can I just say many thanks to those talented people who take the time to create the filters here. You are unknowingly adding to the visual richness of Second Life. I especially want to thank Foxxee and Stevie for their moody lights and extreme metalic filters. Oh and Genie for the cabinets superb job...slooow render but the best filters always are! Here are some samples of " my " work. I work with photos in PS. |

Yeah, I wish FF would "get a clue" before it's too late.....get into selling royalty-based texture packs like that from authors here.....justify/take advantage of the new EULA.....and develop an incentive program from it that would "raise the bar" on texture submissions here.....
