I often find myself stuck on campus and spend time between lectures in the library computer lab. The restrictions on the systems here don't let me install the filter forge demo. I wanted to know if there was any way to transform and copy the licensed copy of Filter Forge I have at my home to a portable version I could run solely off of a flash drive. What I would ideally want would be something that doesn't require any installation files to be saved to the host computer, no dll's or registry settings etc. Wiki Link I also would need to save the files not to the "my documents" area but somewhere I define specifically.
Has anyone had any success trying something like this? |

I would suggest setting your computer (with FF) up for remote use from another computer......

Thanks for the suggestion stevo but that's not really what I'm looking for. Even if I could get the connection open on my end the campus PC's wouldn't allow the installation of the other end necessary. Part of the reason I wanted the portable was to make use of the faster CPUs my school is able to afford.

It would allow you to access your computer and use FF from any campus computer (with internet access) without having to install anything on it.....but it would only be as fast as your home computer and modem speed would allow......

I'm familiar with the Remote Desktop, but I'm looking more for an actual method to put FF on a flash drive and pop it into a pc. There's a wiki link in the first post which I'm sure links to plenty of examples.

piece of cake... load windows into a vmware module and install FF into that vm-windows. then just copy the vm-windows to the flash drive and boot to it from any pc. just be aware that you may be in violation of about 1000 copyrights by doing so
