Hi all,

I included a two-page spread on Filter Forge in issue #8 of the free Plugs 'N Pixels ezine. I included examples of four preset filter effects with author credits smile;-). There are a couple different presets included on the FF promo page on my website.

FF makes fantastic image effects using your unedited contributed filters alone, and for that I thank all of you who work so hard to create them. I was amazed that Color Philosophier turned the sihouetted couple in my sample image into a lit shot! You can almost read the guy's shirt.

BTW, I am running FF on an Intel MacBook using Parallels Desktop--as a Mac user, I still won't miss out on this imaging revolution!

"Burninator" By Richard Bartlett and "100 year old Tug Boat" by Bongo51 look really good on that example...Issue 8 page 6 of the ezine in post #1.

I like how Burninator in that picture looks like it could be a new cover for Stephen King's Firestarter.
I'm enjoying using Filter Forge to create http://torley.com/textures

Now, in the interest of further promoting Filter Forge, I'd like to invite those of you on this forum to submit artwork created with FF for possible publication in a future issue of the ezine (and also on the companion Plugs 'N Pixels website's Gallery page).

There is no cost or payment involved, but you will receive worldwide exposure with an artist credit and a link to your relevant website if you desire.

Please email up to three JPEGs (up to about 9x12 @ 72ppi, high quality compression) and a paragraph or two about the filter and technique used to plugsnpixels -at- gmail.com OR refer me to an existing image or images on your website that I can download.

I'm looking forward to seeing what we come up with!

I didn't hear from anybody here with art submissions (the offer still stands to be a Featured Artist!), but I had some fun with Carl's Pyromanic filter and published two more pages about Filter Forge in the new issue of free my ezine (issue 9):

Here is one of the examples without the copy and other images in the layout.

Thanks Steve!

Are the images you use for your examples your own (http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read.php?TID=2938 , etc.)? Send me more info about yourself and you'll be a Featured Artist next time.

Carl, thanks for such a cool filter!

As for Acrobat, it may throw up a bogus font encoding error, but click OK and everything will display fine.

Did you download the PDF or try to view it in your browser? Try downloading it first and viewing it locally.

Also try alternate PDF viewers (visit www.versiontracker.com and do a search). And upgrade your Adobe Reader to the latest, 8.1 (it's free).

You'll see it eventually!
