I noticed a slow down to until I realized that unlike before where it rendered in two stages now it does the entire process in one --as far as the one process goes it is faster than the 2 sepperate ones But I regret it for development purposes --as far as that goes it slows me down --but for the mass end user I can see this as a great improvement

I'm very much looking forward to trying it out! Unfortunately, upgrading it on my side it seems to have short circuited the clock on my trial, ahahah ^_^. Yes, strangely enough, I am still a trial user up to today (Nooooo! My ramaining 12 days are gone!) Can't argue that the Filter Forge trial is probably the most generous application trial I've ever come across ^_^ Well, hopefully my high rankers and the request I made to the Filter Forge team will help me get back on my feet again, still got a couple of eggs in need of hatching -- so to speak, ahahaha ^_- Oh yeah, the reward are manually requested right, as oppose to automated by the system or emailed automatically, correct? Just wanted to make sure, thanks ^_^

volde,
by the 'two stages', you mean the first un-anti-aliased one and the anti-aliased one? it's doing it all as one now? i'll have to look at that again. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I'm a bit confused here too.
By the way, using PaintShopProX, I don't think I've ever seen the image that Bella just posted. |

I believe it means that you can run FF independently even if you have it set up to run as a plugin??? I assume, but haven't tried it......

I've been running FF from within PS CS2 for a few times since the update, but I don't get it (the window Bella posted, that is!).

it sounds like if you're running it as a plugin currently, and while it is running, you can switch it over to stand-alone mode. 'sounds like', so that's just a guess.

So, I'll try to explain what this feature actually means
![]() Old plugin user interface behavior is well-known - the main Filter Forge window is shown modal to the host window. When you minimize Filter Forge main window, the host window is minimized too. To make proper support for Adobe Photoshop CS3 we had to add an alternative mode for plugin user interface. In that mode you'll see a small window modal to the host window (the screenshot Bella posted earlier), while the main Filter Forge window will be independent from the host window. So when you minimize Filter Forge window, it does not have any effect on the host window. The feature does not affect transferring data from host to Filter Forge and vice versa. It only changes Filter Forge window behavior. So, how to turn on the IndependentUI mode and how to see the window which everyone has heard of but no one has seen? ![]() You need to change one parameter in the plugin's config file, "Filter Forge.config", which is located at the same folder as plugin file "Filter Forge.8bf". <IndependentUI value="true"/>. Specifying "True" in a value parameter you will make plugin to work in a new, independent way. Specifying "False" you can turn it back to the old-style behavior. This feature is supported only from version 1.009, trying to use it with previous versions of Filter Forge will cause errors. Default values are as follows: "True" for Adobe Photoshop CS3. "False" for all other host applications. You can change IndependentUI value yourself if you prefer one mode to another. But it is strongly recommended to keep that value as "True" for Adobe Photoshop CS3. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee proper work of Filter Forge plugin in old-style mode under that host. |
