Is there any other way to get FF besides usage rank, I am trying my hardest, but I would be very happy if there was a way that I was certain to get a free copy.

Maybe try showing some examples of your filters in the *User Gallery* forum, and/or update and improve them so they hit the frontpage and get seen again. Other than that, it just takes time to get high usage filters, but if you make a variety of them (like you seem to) it will almost certainly happen after a while.

you could also simply poll the group to see what's needed and wanted. and remember, FF was created as a texture maker. so, who uses textures and what do they want? and heck, why just poll this group here on the forums. go out on other forums and see what they want. they get introduced to FF and the amazing group of filters here and you get an idea of 'what sells'.

Hey Redcap
![]() Alot of users don't bother with the forum and just get what they need and that's it. Polling is worth a try, but likely to be seen by mostly other filtermakers.... I think a wide range of application is the key.....and unique specific effects have less of a chance because of limitted apps..... I would keep them all in one filter and not break up the effects because it dilutes usage. I break alot of mine up just because I want to make it extremely easy for the user to go right for the specific effect desired.....so they won't have to spend alot of time digging through a control-laiden filter that does not have an efficient ability to zero in on effects without lockable controls in randomization. If I was only thinking of obtaining high usage, then I would lump them together and keep them all in one filter.....to focus users in on just that one filter..... Craig (Kraellin) posted a list of usable filters that hadn't been done, but I can't seem to find it..... I would suggest that you keep plugging away at it.....and request the 90 day extention from FF. Your filters will get better and better as you go.....and it will most likely happen for you..... Also suggest talking to Carl about how he did it. He felt the exact same way as you.....but he kept going......and before he knew it, he had three high usage and a free copy..... One last suggestion......comment on other peoples filters and they will most likely return the favor by taking the time to comment on yours.....which keeps them active and visable...... Hope this helps you ![]() Steve
