Discounts are available within the current version only. I mean, one can buy FF12 Basic now, then in two years they ask for an upgrade to Professional. They won't get a discount since version 12 will have been discontinued by then.

Basic allows you to load your own videos and apply filters to each frame but can't render animation. You can still save each frame one-by-one and then use a third-party program to combine images into video.

If you buy 12 with v13 free you'll be able to download any filter made with version 1 - 13 but not 14+. You can download all filters inside the app at once, but it will take a while to finish. Even if you can't download filters past version 13 it's not a big problem since new filters are made with very old versions to beta versions. You can get a FF13 beta key by asking support and once 13 is released they email you a key.

You can edit any filter you download with the built-in filter editor. The edit filter button is at the top right.
Not sure what basic maxes out at since I have studio lifetime.

FF has the best support ever, I've used it tens of times and always get a fast answer. They even gave me a dead forum username and display name. Not many companies go that far for their users!

Wow, don't waste your money I bought a lifetime subscription a number of years ago and FF had all the bells and whistles the latest upgrade they have sent me is a load of rubbish and all the fatiures that were originally available are gone.
I wish I had known before i upgraded, how sad. The new version you can't even change the number of pixels and it saves everything @ 72dpi.

Just really sad, when we all support this company and what they do is shaft us.
