Filter Forge - filterforge effect not affecting my image

Ann B Ann B Posts: 6	Hi, this will probably sound really stupid, but I have had filterforge since no 4 and had my favorite filters that I used. Then, as now, (version 12) there have been filters that do not affect my image at all. The thumbnail of the effect sits there in place of my image. I cant find any where that will get it to work on my image. What am I doing wrong.

Rachel Duim So Called Tortured Artist Posts: 2498 Filters: 188	What I see in your screenshot is correct. The top categories are Textures (Buildings Frames etc), which do not use the input image in generating the output, only the size of the image in pixels. The middle categories are Effects (Creative, Distortions etc) which DO use the input image and create output based on the input image or images. Math meets art meets psychedelia.

David Roberson Artist Posts: 404 Filters: 36	I'm sure there are ways to modify texture filters so that they can have an effect on input images. Those kinds of projects are the type I enjoy, though I suppose I'd need something to prompt me to do it in most cases. If there's a particular one you'd like me to try on, feel free to ask for my help, if you need it.
