WOW!! Thanks very much for continue making this great, well done and very useful tutorial, like much how you do it and is very good to learn more about FF.

Thanks again for your time, knowledge and work.

I think that this tutorial should be available in the Filter Forge website in the downloads page so you do not have to search for it on the forum.

Thanks for the little update adding the missing image

Also I want to thanks once more for all the 68 pages tutorials that is well done and explains very well and easy to understand how tto combine elements for creating shapes and is really useful and helpful

BUT I have seen that most examples and tutorials are for creating realistic shapes, things that have already a defined shape and now I wonder

HOW TO MAKE ABSTRACT SHAPES IN THE BEST WAY?

For example

I wonder how to combine correctly components to get good unusual shapes or abstract shapes, or more exactly what components can be used to experiment and try to combine to see what abstract shapes you can find.

Maybe this is really not needed, as you can tell me that the components may be the same as the ones used for the realistic shapes but used in a different way or modifying he values

Well there are many ways to make abstract shapes....You could use some of the methods in the pdf you could use a 2 noises (one for black one for white).connected to a 2 distortions and then blend those together with a threshold...etc......You could also substitute other things for the noises..This way you will be able to use the variations to get more abstract shapes...You have been here long enough to experiment there SR.... smile;) smile:)

Thanks for showing how it could be done and is interesting and useful, will try and test what you have shown and told

i think that this could be interesting to have abstract shapes to mix them together in bomber and create unusual textures and creations

If you want it be good if could show additional ways to make abstract shapes with other components would be helpful

Thanks

Well, From what you say I suposse you wanted to get something like these black vector fire but I think is really difficult using FF the is no way to PAINT shapes as you can in a vector software, and there is no splines or path. And as recently was released FF 5.0 there is no hope that it will be included any way to do it

although I am sorry for you that you could not have got what you wanted, are these that you showed what you have done or they are examples of what you wanted to get?

Threedee wrote in his thread about Octadraw

Since we don't have real vector drawing in FF, it has been a royal pain to add any custom shapes to filters. Here is an attempt to change that. While it doesn't make vector drawing easier per se, it does make reusing and sharing created images incredibly easy. "OctaDraw" provides a different approach to creating and, more importantly, storing bezier images.

ThreeDee have done this alternative to be bale to have in some way vector for shapes in FF named Octadraw and there is two filters available on the FF library

Hi, I have seen this website showing this cool and beautiful shapes

Steel Alphabet shapes

and I was wondering how to make them in FF, and so I put on the forum "shapes tutorial" and found this thread with the very interesting and useful PDF tutorial done by CFandM

Thanks for taking the time to make it and sharing you knowledge

Only the Ancient Terris style looks complex to do in FF (if we want to make it EXACTLY like in that page). All the others can be made blending circles, triangles and lines.

I think that another way apart from the very good tutorial from CFandM is to go inside other filters that use shapes and see how they are built, and also try to experiment modifying the settings and see what happens, there are many filters available that build shapes to be used as part of the result effect

Thanks Ramlyn, good to know from an expert like you that seem to have very good experience on making shapes as you have shown in your filters

i do not care about the Ancient Terris, I really only like the Last empire ones, not the others, and as you say It may be posible

i have found this interesting filter that makes circular abstract shapes that looks good and useful to learn more how to build shapes

Circly Shadows by Deskar

He mixes and blend circles to get unusual abstract shapes

Yes, I agree with you, For example the Circly shadow filter above and many others. i do not know how they are built, but as you say, experimenting with the setting you may get cool things
