Hi friends,

i have an old PC with Windows Vista installed (will not change it for some reason) and would like to know what is the latest FF version available, running on Windows Vista 64bit?

I also have a laptop with Windows10/64bit - i guess it will run FF v.10?

Is there a version that runs on both systems, so win vista and windows10?

I have 5 reward points and would like to run FF on both systems if possible. Didn't use it for quite some time, my latest version was FF 4.0. Am i allowed to run the same version on 2 systems (its only me working on the PC's - nobody else and i am not doing it for profession)?

Thank you
regards, rilos

Hi rilos, we don't officially support Vista but FF should still run fine. Please install the free trial version and check if it works for you:

5 points will give you Filter Forge Studio Edition that can be used on two computers.

Thank you very much for your answer.
Was the reward system changed some time ago?
I am not sure, but i remember 5 points where good for a lifetime update once upon a time,
or am i completely mistaken?

Anyway Studio Edition should be fine. How could i update for new releases then?

Indeed, here's the announcement about a month before the update took effect.

Thanks for the info.
If i understand right, i just missed my lifetime license opportunity? smile:| smile:?:
Now i have to earn 3 points more to get a lifetime update - right?

Hmmm - thats bad luck for me.
Just testing the version 10 now - wasn't here for quite a long time now.

I think earlier rewarded points should be capt as in the earlier reward program,
as they were earned for that. So there should be a kind of Grandfathering option for
old points i guess smile;)

Hmm - no answer here.
The more i think about it, the more i feel its unfair!
I earned my reward points long time ago in the believe i get a full lifetime update for 5 points.
With my 4 points i could already have choosen the last full version - but i decided to wait for the next point to get a lifetime update.
Now you put an inflation on my points of 60%!
If i wait longer to get 8 points you might in the meantime decide for another reward inflation - so that i have to earn 12 points instead of 8.

You definetly should think about the Grandfathering rule - that would be fair for long time users.
I believe i belong to the first beta-users of FF but didn't use it for some years now.
So make your mind up - and decide for the customer smile:)

Thanks

Changing the reward system out of the blue would be unfair. We believe that announcing a change some 6 weeks before it takes effect is fair.

Moreover, the reward for 3 points hasn't changed, so you can still claim a free copy of FF 10 Professional.

I earned 5 points and i could have a lifetime license with that! smile:( smile:?:

I haven't been here for a while - so don't blame me for that.
It is unfair practice to withdraw earned rights!
Very dissapointing! smile:evil:
