Hello,
I use FilterForge since v.6 and always bought upgrades, to 7,8,9. Now I have v.9 Changes were done mostly in rendering, but usability has not changed much, almost no changes, I do not remember any significant change.. I also work in SW development industry and from my opinion GUI is missing next features: - possibility to preview other filters while rendering, I mean continue ordinary editing work while rendering some task. - batching from GUI multiple filters - could be easy just like this: take a filter, save settings for particular variant, add to batch, take next, do the same Simple scheduling with filter Id and set of parameters, FIFO queue, run sequentially - inform with sound "beep" and pop up window when rendering is ready, it takes much time and I usually do other works - run multiple instances if use just SW rendering Generally saying it is disappointing that usability not improved at all during last 4..5 years.. Productivity is suffering and no automation at all.. Even L&F is old by year 2020 I always upgraded to the next version, but this year I probably will skip that until I see bigger changes.. Please add your features you missing, I am sure that can be more - I listed just those which irritate me most during many years |

I agree that Filter Forge still lacks some desirable features.
Thats why I develop tools that I need myself. If you are looking for a free (donationware) batch renderer (Windows) that can render in the background, check out my batch renderer: FFEasyRender It's as simple as right-clicking a filter in FF, choosing "Locate File" and dragging the filter file in FF EasyRender. |
