I'll check out jffe's suggestion, but for my 2 cents, I found an easy way to get FF to treat non-seamless component output like it is seamless. I mean continuous, repeating off-frame. Just use 2 profile gradients for x and y (rotate 90 degrees) and feed it to a lookup component. That "sets" the contents of the canvas to repeat. Good for offsets of images that are seamless in their design, but don't act that way in FF.

@jffe, I tried the filter. It's pretty cool but it truncates my rectangular seamless tiles into non-seamless square ones. I just want something that will allow me to place an existing seamless square or rectangular tile into a contiguous tile formation where I can determine x and y dimensions for output.

Hi, @David Roberson! I have over 40 years of coding experience but I do not know how to do that with FF.

Here is a simple offset and scale to accomplish this.....The offset is just in case you want to move the original image but you can keep those at zero....The scale is to scale the image. Note that the seamless tiling will change when using this scale....I have used your image above to make this filter so you will have to reload it on your computer because I just saved the preset with a color instead....
This is a FF9 filter... Tiler.ffxml Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

CFandM, thank you but I could not get it to tile the source image seamlessly. It truncates my rectangular seamless source image into squares. I did find a tool this afternoon on-line that does what I want, albeit clumsily and with limitations (see link, below). Is this achievable with FF?

What size is your source image?...In the menu choose new image then type the size of the image that you want...When you first open FF the default image size is a square....
Then load the source image into the filters setting....... If the original image that you want to tile is not truly seamless then it will show when tiling.......There are other tiling filters in the library to try out..... Here are a couple of mine that try to address the issue of some basic seamless tiles...... The first one is for square images only then the second version handles non-square images...These turn the non seamless images into an image that can be tiled...... Seamless Concept 1 Seamless Concept 2 Here is a search for filters that do tiling if you want to check those out.... Filter Search While there is no perfect filter or plug-in that does this perfect there needs to be some intervention in a graphics program.....It all depends on the source image that you use from the start.......If your source image is like the ground images on that site then some intervention is required..... Here is an oldie but a goodie.... Seamless Workshop Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

CFandM,
Thank you! I changed the load source image settings and it worked! Saludos, Manny |

Just for the sake of posting here is one with the repeat as posted by David Roberson....
I used the free gradients so it handles the non square images as well.....Another filter made with FF9.... Repeat Tiler.ffxml Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |
