I'm really, really, really, confused about this "Lifetime License" thing. I bought a lifetime license ($429 US) thinking that it was just that...a "lifetime license" for any upgrades to FF. However, when I try to upgrade I keep getting an "invalid format key" message.

To be honest I haven't tried to upgrade for several versions until today, when I got the notice that ver. 9 was available. Tried to run ver. 9 after download and installation....and it doesn't recognize my license code.

So does "Lifetime" mean "Lifetime" or not?

Would really appreciate some clarification on this. Thanks.

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!!! I remember it saying that if you paid for Professional 6.0, you would get Lifetime upgrades for free! Even though it was quite expensive, I took the chance and bought it. When it came to upgrading to 7.0 and 8.0, I did not have to pay for the upgrade. But 9.0 requires me to make a purchase. What's the story Filter Forge? Michael Mc

This is expected behavior.

Every FF version requires a different license key. A lifetime license means you'll get a new key every time the next program version is released. Please check your inbox and spam folders for an updated key and installation instructions.

I don't always get the new licence key (I bought the lifetime licence way back at the start).

Just use the contact us, making sure that your email address corresponds with the one that you used when purchasing, and they will send you a new licence key. You NEED a new one for each new version.

I bought a Lifetime License way back when they first started offering it and it has paid for itself many, many times over! Requesting the key with each major upgrade is no big deal. Maybe Filter Forge could make the upgrade procedure and HOW IT WORKS more clear to avoid angry villagers with pitchforks and torches every time there is a version number upgrade. <LOL>
