I have Photoshop CC 2019 - installed Filter Forge 8 but the plugin is not showing up. I've tried a couple of times - no dice. What am I missing? I'm aware that I might be doing something wrong ...

Hi, Steve, Donn here. I ran into the same problem this evening. I have been running CS6 and FF7 without incident, but upgraded to CC 2019 yesterday and FF8 today and I can't get FF8 to show up in Photoshop. It runs well as standalone. When it didn't show up, I ran the file named "InstallPlugins" in the FF8 folder, and received:

(MyName)-iMac:~ (MyName)$ /Applications/Filter\ Forge\ 8/InstallPlugins ; exit;
Searching for Adobe Photoshop CC 2019...
Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 found at /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2019/.
ln: /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2019/Plug-Ins/Filters/FilterForge.pluginv8: Permission denied
Failed to install Filter Forge plugin for Adobe Photoshop CC 2019

I saw Katanya's note about her Photoshop CC problem and so I ran the Photoshop Help:System Info. It was a long file, but here is the system info: Adobe Photoshop Version: 20.0.1 20181029.r.41 2018/010/29: 1197484 x64. One odd thing I noticed was that there was a spot for "Plugins that failed to load" and this printout said "NONE"

I don't really know how to proceed further, so I hope I've given the FF guys some useful info.
Take care, Donn

Please launch Terminal from Spotlight or Launchpad > Utilities and type this:

cd /Applications/Filter\ Forge\ 8/
sudo ./InstallPlugins

Sudo will ask you for an admin password, as InstallPlugins requires elevated privileges.

I wanted to thank you for your quick response - this solved the problem. Oddly enough, I may have been typing something incorrectly, because when I typed it in directly, I received a "file not found" error - but, when I copied and pasted from here, it worked like a charm.

Thanks again for your help

I'm having the same issue on a PC for PS 2019. I'm assuming "cd /Applications/Filter\ Forge\ 8/ sudo ./InstallPlugins" is for a MAC. Could you please give me the sequence for a PC? Thank you! (And also how I would run it.)

There is no sequence for PC - we have never heard of any issues with the Windows installer.
Since yours is a bit off topic here, please open a new thread in the corresponding forum or, better, contact the support team.
