Probably a dumb question, but...
On the upgrade page there is a yellow box above the area where you fill in all the upgrade details, it says
"If you are a long-time customer you can get the latest Filter Forge version at a personal discount. Please contact us through the contact form."
I've been a customer since FF2, so I thought that would qualify as "long-time" so I used the contact form to ask for the discount, but when I got the reply today, the "personal discount" is the same $65 as the regular upgrade price... the email link I got just sends me back to the upgrade page.
Does it actually matter if you have been a customer for a couple of versions or is it always the same or is the information in the yellow box just poorly worded?
$65 is okay (about the same as I always pay) but the wording implies that if I'm a long-time customer I get a special price... But not being logged in and filling out the info in the fields below, gave me the same exact price...
I'm not so much complaining as curious, but earlier today in the real world, I was facing a bit of bureaucracy with a lot of "yeah, that's what it says, but not what we meant" and when I opened the email from Filter Forge just now, I felt a little disappointed based on what was probably a stupid expectation/interpretation by me...
Any info on this would be appreciated and I thank you in advance.

I didn't mean anything negative by my question.
This is not a criticism, only a bit of confusion...
That and I did not realize you are not a native English speaker... Which I understand, because neither is my wife (but she still speaks English better than me) and we often disagree on how things are or can be interpreted... Actually, I'm not even sure my kids speak English... Heck, it might not even be an earth language... It's very mumbly sounding...
Anyway, I did not include the part about "Upgrades from Filter Forge 1, 2 , and 3 have been discontinued" because these seem like two separate statements... The bold font and inclusion of two separate methods of finding out your upgrade price (filling out the form or using the contact link) was what created that impression for me... I haven't had coffee yet, but the best analogy I can give would be waiting on line for a sports match and seeing the line separate at two doorways leading down separate corridors... One marked "Season pass holders" and the other "Ticket holders for today's match"... Most people who were season pass holders might think "Oh great! Maybe we are getting a shorter line or something"... But if at the end of the corridor you ended up merging back into the same line, at more or less the same point, you'd be like... "I don't get it... Why did they do that?"... It's not exactly the same, but I only slept three hours last night so at least I didn't mention purple pandas...
I'm not suggesting you rewrite the statement, but now I see how your wording was was meant, which is that "users who have much older versions are not being left out in the cold and can still share in a great upgrade price"... Which is very generous.
I didn't mean to come across as being a greedy jerk... Which I can see anyone believing if this was an offer of free pie... Then someone might have to drag me away from the pies, but in this case I was genuinely confused.
I know that the Internet is full of idiots who analyze and critique anything and everything people say and love to sound smarter and better than everyone else... That's not me, I freely admit I was once beaten at a game of poker by a chihuahua... But it's not like I lost a lot of money to him either...
Anyway, my point was I don't know if the statement "how should we rewrite it" was genuinely asking or reacting to me sounding like a know-it-all... I'm going to trust you weren't as annoyed at me as I often deserve and that you meant "if you think there is a better way to express this, I'm willing to hear it".
Based on that, here goes...
"Upgrades from Filter Forge 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 have been discontinued.
However, If you are a long-time customer still using these versions, you are invited to get the latest Filter Forge version at a personal discount. Please contact us through the contact form."
Perhaps something along those lines... I realize I'm probably the only fool who may have misinterpreted your wording, but maybe not... Trust me, when us fools have our monthly fool meetings, there are lots of us and none of us understand much of anything.
Anyway, like I said, none of this was a criticism and in all honesty I wasn't really expecting much of a discount below the $65 anyway, but since I do not use Filter Forge for anything I make money with (95% of it is for my freebie models and their promo art at ShareCG), every upgrade to professional level is strictly out of my small savings for hobby related stuff... So it's $65 for an upgrade to FF or $70 for Ultimate Unwrap which was what was in/on my budget and I'll probably postpone Ultimate Unwrap again in favor of the upgrade... Either way, it's to improve the quality of models I give away for free... Not exactly smart, but not entirely greedy, so you can see my reason for asking... If I were a brokered artist or had a studio and was making money using your wonderful tool, I'd just do the lifetime upgrade which is exceptionally reasonable and totally fair... Extra fair actually, but unfortunately out the range of my sad little budget (if it weren't for the stupid child labor laws maybe I could get one of my ten year olds to do some coal mining on the side)...
Anyway, thank you for the reply, which by the way as I've often said is something I find exceptional about Filter Forge... One of the top Filter Forge staff answered my question... Not an intern, not some guy who comes in every other day to randomly hand out canned replies... Actual top staff... It's like getting a Christmas card from the Pope... That's nice.
Sorry if I sounded like I was bitching about the price or the wording, that's not what I meant and I also hope you see that I've tried to insert humor in to my reply... Although the part about belonging to the United Fools Union is true, the part about seeing purple pandas is not... They are more magenta... Paisley magenta actually... And the Pope has never sent me a Christmas card, but his staff did tell me to stop writing long dumb letters to him.
Hopefully you had lots of free time to read this overly long and rambling reply, but I was born without that part of the brain that makes most people get to the point early or stop eating pie without passing out, so this is what generally happens whenever I reply to anything...
Have a great day and thanks for great a product.
Sincerely and protractedly, Vic Cook.
P.S.: If you have any spare pies laying around, I'd be happy to take them off your hands... I'm just putting that out there... Just in case...
Bye.
