I have the standard version 4.0. Does it have transparent background for PNGs? I have never been able to save out an image as a png with a transparent background.
Can the professional version save with a transparent bg? |

Hey Burpee,
![]() I think you should be able to. I don't see anything on the comparison page that would suggest otherwise. https://www.filterforge.com/buy/ I have FF Pro though, so I'm not sure. Two possibilities come to mind. 1: Be sure to enable "Include Transparency" on the export dialog that pops up when you save PNG files. 2: Be sure to include the external image in the processing network, even if it’s never used. Otherwise FF will place it in the background automatically. To get around this, I usually add a "Switch Texture" node as the final node in the network (before the result). I connect the content I want to output to the Switch's slot 1 and just pass it through to the "Result" node. I then attach the external image to the Switch's last slot, and never use it. Thank you both for responding.
Since I asked this back in June I bought the pro version and have not had a problem with transparent backgrounds. Fisholith, I like the second suggestion and will give that a try just to ingrain it into my memory. Nice tip. CFandM - thanks for the link. Will check out your posts Cheers! |
