It's called "Mayan Metropolis" - and yeah - I think it's kinda lame, but it's a start, lol smile;)

Good for you Bill. Hey we all had to start somewhere so don't worry as long as you are creating that is the main thing. I think all my filters are lame. LOL But someone uses some of them and that makes me happy. smile;) I just checked and you have 40 download, not a bad start for a newbie. smile;)

Thanks Mardar,

I would like to do some image effects stuff since that seems to be the most popular, but I need to get the hang of learning all of the components. That - and I have very little experience with node based apps.

First of all hello! And that's some great news smile:)

As a small tip: The key with FilterForge also stems from understanding basic image manipulation techniques. If you understand base methods in those programs, then you can emulate them in FilterForge and vice versa. In a lot of cases I guess node base programmers throw people off because variables can be used again and again. Basically thinking "Oh I can use this base element over and over" is the key to understanding programs like these.

And one last thing: once you get comfortable with FilterForge, you can really move on to other nodey programs out there! With an exception of a couple nodes a lot of things in FilterForge is readily available in other programs. If the structure is basic enough, you have a chance of translating the structure to other programs by simply copying stuff. So there's a lot of opportunity. smile:)

Good luck and have fun.
