I've been watching new processors come out; in particular, seeing AMD's line but also the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700. Since Filter Forge is intended to scale well with additional cores/processors, has anyone used Filter Forge on one of these yet?
Or, I even wonder about, say, octo-core systems for rendering, like some of the ones you can configure via http://www.boxxtech.com . Would be curious to see more benchmarks and results! ![]() I'm enjoying using Filter Forge to create http://torley.com/textures |

@Biomechanic: Thanks, that sounds like quite a meaty system! Do you feel you get excellent performance on it, and noticeably a boost up from your previous dual-core system? Sucks to hear about the power surge, altho it did lead to this: I had a power surge last week and it knocked me out for a couple days. I feel so lost without the Internet.
