This question may be silly perhaps, but I have been using many times different filters and usually I have found that when you use the filters that belong to the category of self generated results by FF and do not depend on any source image are slower or much slower than usually the ones that are not self generated, of course that there are exceptions in both cases.

After having seeing this thread Ways to Reduce Your Render Times and also others about the same topic I wonder

Does the filters that make self generated results are usually more slower than others that depend on a source image?

Or in another way, does Texture filters are usually more slower than the Effects filters?

As said above, there may be always exceptions and some Effect flters that may be much slower than a texture filter

Well in general texture filters will be slower anyway since we're generating everything from nowhere. But I can also bet you that if you sample enough filters, the render times of both effects and textures would turn out 10% different. smile:p
