Is using Stable Diffusion, which is being sued for copyright infringement, for stealin thousands of artworks from thousands of artists, wise?

No, the classic FF will still be supported. UF and FF are different products, with different strengths and weaknesses which don't always overlap. See my more detailed reply here: https://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...&TID=16845 |

When will it be available for users of Mac?? and also will we be given the option of a joint subscription ?? Being a user of FF for many years( first got FF7 back in the dark ages) I will not want to give it up without a fight, but on the other hand I do like the sound of UF and hope that one can compliment the other.

We don't have a specific date yet, but it definitely won't be in the first release. Here's my detailed reply on Mac support: https://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...&TID=16843
We will certainly offer various joint subscription / purchase options, but at the moment we don't have any specific info to share.
Yes, complements -- this is exactly what FF and UF are. |

This is a really big topic. At the moment, I just want to point out that there are absolutely legal and ethical cases of using SD (or any similar generative neural network) -- for example, you could use a model trained on public domain images, or on images you created, or on images you own or acquired necessary rights for. |

So excited with Ultraforge!!! Kudos to the team! About the Stable Diffusion question, I can offer some personal opinions. Legally, the last thing I've read is you have a case suing when it's clear your work has been directly stolen (if something looks a lot like your piece), but that's not the case in virtually any the of cases (unless the AI model has been trained with your work directly). At the end of the day, we do the same thing by browsing images and getting inspiration by other's work, so once the dust settles AI will prevail. About copyright, AI art is not copyrightable, but the modifications on top of it are. This is something that doesn't have strict rules and would be evaluated case by case. What makes me happy is that Ultraforge uses it as part of the whole node tree, so we are actually adding a lot of artistic input and modifications before and after the Stable Diffusion nodes, and that should be considered as an artistic modification. |

Will it permit the utilization of the extensive repository of models available on platforms like CIV or HF? Furthermore, how comparable will it be to the quality achieved by MidJourney? I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to observe a few images of the software, even if the graphical user interface (GUI) is still in its preliminary stages of development. Also, the inclusion of an image generated by the software would be highly desirable.
My sole contribution to Filter Forge consisted of devoting months of continuous effort, working my gaming rig around the clock, to create an extensive library for FFENV. This undertaking was driven by the scarcity of available FFENV resources and the limited number of contributors. It was an enjoyable endeavor. Additionally, thank you for relocating the thread, which resulted in increased visibility among users and consequently led to thousands of downloads. Lastly, with regard to individuals who made significant monetary investments (which holds a considerable value for me at least as I am disabled) to purchase Filter Forge lifetime licenses, is there a possibility of them receiving a discounted rate or offer? Thank you for the valuable contributions you make to FF; it's one of the best graphics software ever made because of your dedication. I am filled with anticipation to witness the unveiling of UF. Hallo!
Danke |

Hello!
About a year ago, I bought the full version of "Filter Forge" including future updates or upgraded it. Now I have three questions. 1. Will Ultra Forge also be available for Mac and if so, from when? 2. They praise "Ultra Forge" as the successor to "Filter Forge." When will software updates for Filter Forge be discontinued? 3. My "Filter Forge" version includes free version updates. Does this now mean that I will continue to receive free updates on "Ultra Forge", or will my full version of over €800, including future updates, be obsolete soon? I ask for a clear, unambiguous answer. Thank you! |

Hello,
If I order the Windows version, can I later switch to the Mac version without paying a second time? |

I have quite a few, that I would like to clear up before I think about purchasing this:
1) It's locally run, meaning generation is as well? Will this also include SD 2.1 (and required yalms) or XL generation code, or only 1.5? 2) Is there any advantage to this program over using other local installations currently? Or is it more for those who want an easy install/all in one, without tinkering with Automatic1111/python/comfyUI so on? Because currently the features and usability of such UIs are extensive and easily accessed. 3)If local run, would it support Xformers (or similar) for lower RAM set ups? Would it take advantage of Torch2 / triton / CUDAengine (again, or equivalent) for higher end setups? I know it says one question per thread (reply?) but I've tried asking my 2nd question in it's own thread and never received an official reply so trying to learn as much as I can here. -Hobolyra- |

Sorry that I have never used Stable diffusion AI and do not know about any of the things you tell But, if I am not wrong and I may understand that what you want to know if it is worth to buy this Ultraforge instead of using what you already have for AI As far as I know from what the information available here, Ultraforge is much more that justo only a simple host of Stable diffusion AI and It Will let you make much more thing that may not be available anywhere else, as you can mix the AI with the Ultraforge nodes and get revolutionary results that would not be possible in other ways So as said is maybe wrong thinking that Ultraforge is just a host of Stable diffusion AI, because It is just ONE of the many parts that are integrated So I think that you can not compare It unless you only want to use It just for Stable diffusion AI without using any of the other many available tools, features and options |

Re: Stable Diffusion:
I know for a fact, Stable Diffusion used 3 of my images to train on without my consent. The only reason Stable Diffusion exists is through the stolen images, whether you use your own images, the AI generator will still use it's bank of other images. On this alone, I won't be purchasing this program and I'm kind of disappointed Filter Forge chose to go this route. |

I don't know if UF will be different from SD, I imagined that it was possible to "train" the AI to use only a private pool of images, if not it is rather disappointing but I am very pleased that the FF team is exploring new avenues. It is now up to the digital artists to adapt to make their work AI-proof |

Hey tantographics, they've used my images as well, but we have to think we, humans, do the same thing as well. Haven't you learned how to do something by looking at other's work? Or take inspiration by checking ArtStation? Or use an image you found online as a background on one of your projects without checking its copyright? AI does the same, just faster. At the moment, at least we are protected by the fact AI artwork can't be copyrighted. The sad truth is those not using AI at companies will be left behind, so, as a friendly advice, I recommend you ride the wave instead of being trampled by it. NOTE: I don't really know you, so if what you say is based on just working on your own art pieces and your job doesn't have anything to do with CG, then I'm 100% with you. |

Hobolyra, UF is still in its infancy, but from the way they work on FF I would say yes, eventually UF will support every version of SD. If I had to guess, I'd say we'll see XL somewhere in between summer and winter. The beta is more like alpha, so I expect to see a ton of new additions when released. The beta is ugh to me, and when I forked out the $199 (own FF-SE Lifetime) I expected the version in the image on the main UF page, was a huge letdown. But I don't mind waiting because I know UF will be the best SD - SDXL software within a year or two max. When it comes to anything serious, like ez stock image money, I use MidJourney/Topaz Gigapixel AI and make what's trending but better. Evil? A little bit, but I like ez money.

1) Do you have plans to release your own checkpoints for Stable Diffusion models that were trained in an ethical way?
SD1.5, SDXL, SD3? 2) Do you have plans to make Ultraforge compatible with ComfyUI in a way that Custom Nodes and Models can be imported? 3) Do you have plans to work together with some of the model developers (ControlNet, IPAdapter, ReActor etc) to adapt their technology for Ultraforge? Ultraforge was a great entry point into AI for me because it provided a user friendly experience. After that I looked at other Stable Diffusion user interface options and realized that I enjoy creating my own custom workflows with Upscaling, ControlNet, IPAdapter etc. The core issue remains that it is somewhat challening to check the license of every single checkpoint and model if it can be used for commercial purposes. Individual developers may lose interest to keep their ui, custom nodes and models up-to-date when new base models are relased. My hope remains that Ultraforge could provide some transparency, stability and reliability as a long term solution. |

Our focus is on software development, not checkpoint developments. UF is already compatible with most custom checkpoints.
UF offers its own UI, and we like it better than competitors' ones ![]()
Support for ControlNet is on the roadmap. No ETA on that, we have more urgent things at the moment, like fixing the BSOD crash. |

Guidance controls how closely the AI follows the text prompt. A higher guidance value produces images that closely match the description but lack creativity. Conversely, a lower guidance value allows for more creative freedom in interpreting the text prompt, leading to unexpected results.

I am enjoying working with UF and learning the ins and outs of node programming so far, here are some questions and observations:
1) The node based inputs for concatenated strings to prompts and negative prompts really facilitate searching for good combinations for image development. 2) Is there a way to input an integer or float value from a node to the txt2img or img2img nodes? This would greatly facilitate searching for appropriate combinations of parameters to optimize an image. Is there a plan to implement such nodes? 3) The list with elem, map, tail and take nodes don't seem to exist yet or I can't find them. How long before they are implemented? Are these node items what would be used to implement a quasi looping mode which would be cool? Thanks |

First of all, I have to say that I think it's a shame that UltraForge doesn't have a proper manual or help library. You'd love to experiment so much, but it's because you don't understand the syntax.
For example, I'm looking for a random function? Where can I find it and how can I use it? For example, I want the "Seed" element to use a different random integer with each render. The same applies to the "if, else, then" programming block. If is either true or false. In other programming languages, I can use if to check whether a value or a string is true and then the other parts of the program are run through - not here and I have no idea how it works with UltraForge. This is wasted potential, because this is exactly the area that represents the added value compared to the free alternatives, but the users are left alone. |

You are absolutely right, UF without a thorough manual is too frustrating, a real shame and a waste of potential. I also wonder if UF isn't just an experiment for the FF team, since there doesn't seem to be much enthusiasm or ongoing development, but maybe I'm wrong. It is also true that technology is going so fast that it is very difficult to keep up without large investments; every month there are new AIs that not only generate images, but also movies and sounds. ... With dedicated AI chips in new ARM processors and, in the future, Intel processors as well, I dream of a new version of FF that takes advantage of these chips and allows effects and animations to be generated with text input. |
