Reading through the documentation on this just now (I am using FF3, incidentally), I notice the intensity is computed by taking the straight average of r+g+b. I realise this seems at first like a sensible approach, but it's actually a bit odd, since the human eye is more sensitive to green than red or blue. A more accurate and common weighting is r * 0.30, g * 0.59, b * 0.11 or thereabouts.

Is this an oversight? Could we at least have a function returning this weighting (or close to it) too please?

Best Regards
Andy

A quick solid fix to your problem is to first use the regular node Desaturate (under Adjustments) and change the method there, and then plug that into your script.
Roses are #FF0000
Violets are #0000FF
