It’s a cool node, but it would be nice if we could collapse some of its related functions. Come to think of it, a global ‘merge connections’ might be nice as well.

Yes, it's too tall, I totally agree. We have some ideas regarding collapsing, but unfortunately they won't make it into v2.0.
