i'm wondering if there's a way to spread the particles more. it looks like, from the attached image, that the entire field is being divided up into 100 x 100 pixels, perhaps for processing reasons, but this is causing problems with inputs being too regular at times. or, maybe i shld say, i havent found a way to disperse this better if it exists. if you look at the image, you'll see that at about 100 pixels either horizontal or verticle, there's a dividing line. this repeats across the whole image. i've got five inputs, all fairly different, but i'm getting a block of 100 x 100 that looks very similar to the next 100 x 100 and again, this repeats across the whole image and again, this is just too regular. isnt there a way to do the spread taking the whole image into consideration for a more irregular pattern rather than this repeating 100 x 100 block pattern? and mind you, i know i'm not the brightest bulb on the tree, so if i'm missing how to do this, please, just let me know.

I believe it's 120 pixels (600 pixels / 5 blocks = 120 pixel blocks).

Additionally, I think it's just the natural occurrence of octaves in the image. Look at the tiling separately in each particle size group. You notice the biggest particles go 5x5, but the 2nd tier size is 10x10, and 3rd is 20x20, so things fall in this pattern just because the way they are generated.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but it may bring insights. It was pretty fun explaining that, because I had never really thought why this happened until now, so I was explaining what I was observing and teaching myself at the same time. smile:)

ah, apparently i changed something before i took the save. it had 6 blocks before, not 5. so, maybe there's a solution in that, finding how to change how many blocks, though that's still going to leave too regular of a pattern. i want random distribution across the whole image.

Isn't that just turning H Chaos and V Chaos to 100?

ok, i figured it out. had to change the opacity, roughness and horizontal and vertical chaos.
