Just wondering, since all the other 'Pattern' components do have a Repeat control. After all, one might want to use Polygon and Ellipse not only as particle shapes, but also in the fashion of Tiles, Pavements, etc., no?
[ And yes, I know Polygon and Ellipse can be 'repeated' via Bomber ]. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

+1 For this!
Quite useful for us "tileoholics", and perhaps faster than having to go through a bomber, so we can use the bomber power to add something extra instead. - I never expected the Spanish inquisition |

Looking at the Polygon and Ellipse components again, I noticed that there's one small problem with introducing a Repeat control:
With a minimum Repeat value of 1, the polygon/ellipse would be repeated once, meaning that there would be a 2x2 grid of Polygons/Ellipses as the absolute minimum. This would - of course - break the Polygon/Ellipse's usability as bomber particle shapes! Consequently, in order for this to work we'd need a Repeat value of 0 as the minimum (IIRC this is currently not supported by IntSliders), which I guess is why Vlad chose NOT not give Polygon/Ellipse components a Repeat control in the first place. Meh! Looks like we need a Repeat component or keep using Offsets instead! ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Or just call it "count." A value of 1 would mean 1 polygon while a value of 2 would put two polygons along the edge (total of 4).

I've just been playing with the bomber and eclipse and the eclipse repeated in a 2x2 pattern. Anyone know why it should do this? Is it a bug?

The bomber can act as a repeater (as mentioned in the first post here). You probably have the settings mixed and are inadvertently doing this.
Posting a picture of your configuration or a ffxml file in another thread might be a better way to solve the problem if it is in-fact a bug. I think we should keep this thread on-topic though; I think a repeat control could be a valuable time-saver so I want to see it through if possible. |

These two components are not finished. We just didn't have time to add all the parameters we wanted to -- actually, we just needed fodder for the Bomber, quick!
Most likely, we'll get back to these components after high-priority stuff is done. |
