Any particular reason or by design?, bug?
I can't Undo/Redo Colors/Values with Color Picker window opened using hotkey. I could of course close window Undo/Redo and reopen it again. ![]() Color selection is one of most used features so hotkey function seem fit. Hotkey works fine in other FF Component Editors so why not here? ![]() |

Makes perfect sense! I guess it just didn't occur to me when I was designing the picker. Probably I just mentally offloaded the "undoability" to the Cancel button and kind of forgot about it.
(BTW this just helped me catch a bug: I went into the Curve Editor and noticed that Redo is broken. We're investigating it.) |

Btw, something else I find is missing greatly from the color picker is having the cursor change to a pipette when you leave the window and let you pick colors

Suppose the cursor changes to the pipette / eyedropper when outside the picker. Where would you pick colors from? For what purpose? Could you some give examples?

Vlad, I miss this option too, along with the much wanted front end eye dropper
![]() Working with graphic design for years, I'm used to pick colors from many different contexts - both inside a given graphics application and outside (e.g. from a browser). |

I can´t come up with any good examples right now.
I think the eyedropper thingy that´s there above the preview could do with two improvements aswell. I only just discovered that it actually picks colors with ctrl-c. It´s not very intuitive ![]() Maybe you could change that to a simple left click in the preview and also make it come up by pressing alt ![]() |

How about divide new vs old color, in those cases you need a visual match, e.g. lighter <> darker.
![]() Then something different but color related. Gradients: ![]() How about the use of control points? it's much faster, this way you need to open/close color picker 5 times. e.g. control points ![]() And furthermore ability of gradient presets. All the sudden a whishlist but definitely hotkey/eyedropper. |

You would need to be able to plugin maps into each control point tho, but yeah not a bad idea.
And the ability to swap colors while were at it ![]() ![]() |

- Picking colors from a reference image opened in pohsothop, xnview, the browser etc. - Gathering colors from color palette tools, like http://kuler.adobe.com/. It's relatively easy to make the eyedropper pick colors from anywhere within Filter Forge window, but I currently can't see how it can be made to pick colors outside the FF window, which many suggestions above ask for.
I just checked the eyedropper tool in the tool palette of Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5, and the eyedropper outside the color picker in Photoshop CS5. None of these were able to pick colors outside the application window. Can you give an example of an eyedropper implementation picking colors outside the app window in other software packages? |

Vlad, you need to click and hold mouse button down, and then move outside the photoshop area..
But I'm really missing the eyedropper locally inside FF when tweaking filters - why is it limited to the filter editor? |
