This is the first filter I made as a test in the new beta. It's supposed to be a stippling B&W filter to look like scientific stippled drawings smile:)

Made this one with stage2 and some AO and HDR lights. Good for your gold mines smile;-)

Tried to do some smithy worked metal, but ended up with a pretty good slag instead.

Totte,

is it just my monitor gamma or are your examples (and many of your filter renderings) terribly dark? smile;)

Dilla- I've even asked this question to FF and th problem is that the previews in FF app is not gamma corrected so they appear sometimes much brighter that the rendered image. And yes, I see it when I've posted the image and see it through a browser..

See this thread:
http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...5&TID=6918

And a brighter version

Didnt wanna be in the other post, strange..

And not in this post either, only 62 kB, strange, no error. I think it is shy now when I rendered with more brightness.
Last try... nope, wont show up.

Getting quiet around here.
Is it because of christmas, or is everyone busy forging away?

Not sure what this is...

Meye - alien brains for the xmas table in year 3125?

Clever to tag your images to prevent them from ending up on one of those textures-for-sell sites...

Cool, Totte.
I can see that 'slag' turning into a bunch of different filters.

Thanks Kraellin.
They actually started out in v1, but it takes a bit of messing around to fake the AO and the lighting isn't as nice.

Ambient Occlusion makes things look strangely 3D. Here's a simple (and utmost minimal) work for printing purposes.

It's actually some kind of alien sewage that drifts across their largest ocean on their tiny orange planet called Gelxphela.

And if I had to be even more creative and "lols" about this, I would imagine it as a melted wax dinosaur. smile:D Happy holidays.

very nice uberzev!

Now I need to improve this filter. Takes 5 mins to render (with ambient occlusion) which I feel like I can fake it for the time being.

Skybase, I think you could easily split that into a magnetic field generator and whatever you're trying to do now. smile:)

Yeah that's true. I'm thinking of redesigning some aspects of the filter itself. 5 mins render is a bit too slow for me, and I wanted to go for something under 2 mins max. the AO is actually the hindrance but also the beauty aspect which I can probably make fake AO maps. Who knows. It's getting there.

Oh and yes, can totally become a magnetic field sort of thing as well!

Here's one more original image.
