ok, that's the message i was getting, just like that. i presume it means error loading standard images, because that's what i was doing, loading standard images, the new ones that come with FF3. every time i'd load one of the new standard images i'd get this message. this is after updating FF3 today to the new version, 3.004.

this did NOT cause a crash of anything. it just caused the error message up where you see the rendering time for a given filter and preset. i believe that all this is is a re-setting of the cached images and that that is somehow generating this error message. i believe this because once i had loaded every single image and then tried loading them again, the message wasnt there the second time. so basically, this is pretty much a no issue, issue and i'm just reporting it as a matter of course.

if i get anything else on this later on, i'll let you know.

sorry, i had the title of the error message wrong. it shld be:

loading external images:
error loading STANAR...

and, new data, i tried the other bug, loading from file, open and it froze the program just like it did with the others already reporting this and now this error loading STANDAR... is back again. i'm guessing this is going to happen each time i start beta 3 up, but i'll check that.

ok, more new data on this. when opening the editor i get the full error message. it's:

loading external images:
error loading STANDARD_IMAGE_LIFESAVER_OPAQUE

this occurs in a filter i made that uses the color component with the preview images enabled but it's set, on opening in the default preset, to just a color. and it appears that it's ONLY related to the lifesaver image. so, i had that part wrong earlier; i just hadnt clicked off the error message.

Sorry Craig, we haven't been able to reproduce it and I'm not sure I understand you correctly. Could you please update your beta version and post the filter with details on how to reproduce.

ok, it does still occur. attached is the screenshot.

notice the presets and which one is currently selected and notice that this is seemingly set as a color. but, in the original, it was not. it was set with a preview image from the color component.

when i first downloaded and installed the original 3.004 it changed the presets to colors for some reason and gave me the error message. why i thought it had gone away was that i had changed back all the presets to images instead of colors. there's two filters involved and it gets silly, so let me just say that the program seems to see in part of it that the images were loaded but is seeing also that a color is loaded and is giving an error about the lifesaver image not being loaded in the presets that used to show the lifesaver image. lol.

if i reset the presets that have color set in them, and i set them to images, i no longer get an error message when i load that preset, but if i leave the ones that have color only and double click that preset to load it, i get the error message.

within the editor i see the full error message. in the main gui it's truncated, which is what you see in the attached screenshot.

it's probably not a very serious error, but it appears i'm going to have a lot of presets to change back from color to images.
