Please, I want that GMM or any moderator can confirm if all the below information is true and 100% right, because I do not work for FF, so I am not 100%sure of how it works the trials beta keys as I am already a owner of Filter Forge since Version 1.0

It seems that there is perhaps some confusion and misunderstanding about how works the beta key for Filter Forge 3.0 (FF 3.0), and this is why I think i will make a new thread to explain more clearly how it works.

The most important thing is to know if you are using the FF 3.0 Beta as as owner of previous FF 2.0 or 1.0 (i mean you have bought any version beofre),or you are using it as a trial, I mean you do not own FF 2.0 or FF 1.0.

Because is not the same, as the beta key for owners of FF is time-unlimited and valid for ALL beta versions, but for FF 3.0 beta trial, is limited to only 30 days and for ONE version only

In the Beta 3.0 download page you can read very clearly at the end in the Beta 3.0 Notes ---> http://filterforge.com/download/beta3/index.html

•The beta is a 30-day fully functional trial of Filter Forge Professional 3.0. All customers of Filter Forge can get a beta key to use the beta version beyond the 30-day trial period. Please note that this key will not work with the commercial 3.0 version. To request the beta key click here

I think that perhaps this important note should be put in the very first beginning, just next to the download link, to avoid confusions and misunderstanding, and avoid frustration or problems, as some people could perhaps and probably go ONLY to the download and DO NOT go to the end of page to read this notes.

If you're a current licence holder of FF2 (or FF1), I'm pretty sure you qualify for a time-unlimited beta key, just contact FF support to request one.

The Beta key for trial and NOT owners of FF is only 30 days

No, just once.

As far as I know it is really, Just once for every beta stage, I mean you can ask for a beta key for beta 1, and then wait until Beta 2 and ask for another key, and so on.

So you if you have the Beta TRIAL you need to ask for a new key each time a new beta trial is released.

To use the beta beyond the 30 days trial time, buy Filter Forge 2.0 and get a free unlimited key for the 3.0 beta.

So all the owners of FF 2.0 (and FF 1.0) that have asked for a beta key will have just ONE key for all the beta versions and for unlimited time BUT only until the final commercial version is released, where you should buy the upgrade to continue using FF 3.0

USING A PREVIOUS BETA VERSION IF A NEW ONE HAS BEEN RELEASED

You can ONLY use a beta trial version only during the time that this beta version is available, because if a new trial version is uploaded to the FF website, the old one will not work anymore and will show the error message ""outdated version" and the beta key you have will not work anymore.

You can´t use anymore beta 1 if beta 2 is already released.

Owners of FF with official licence, will ONLY need to download the new beta and install it and will recognize the old beta key and will not need to have a new key.

I think also that the 30 days is relative, and always the same, as if you ask today for a beta key, and in 10 days a new beta is released, I think that your new beta key will be useless and you will need to ask for a new key for the new beta just released.

The outdated version error happens when you try to run the old beta version when the new beta has been released, and if you already have the beta key, it will be recognized and you do not need a new key, but if you are using as trial, you will need to ask for a new key

I hope that this will help to solve the problem and avoid confusion

If you can afford it, (and now is better than never with 60% discount) I recommend that you buy a licence to this excellent, awesome and amazing program. I know that of course, nobody can buy it, and also if you have never use it and have seen how wonderful it is you should download first the trial, BUT be aware of the beta and trial limitations.

SpaceRay, a trial version is a version with no key! I'm not sure how I should modify the thread title to reflect this.

To avoid further confusion, let's re-phrase it as follows:
Generally, beta keys are sent to registered customers only. If you are not a customer and you've got a beta key by courtesy of our support team, this key will expire by the end of the month no matter if we release a new beta or not. This 'bonus' key means you have used out your 30-day trial and actually got an extension.

Please don't confuse this with the trial version itself. Any user, customer or not, may download and use the unregistered trial version for 30 days.

You don't. If you are a customer you can get a key that will be valid for all future beta versions until the commercial version is released. Any changes within the beta don't affect your registration. We may call them Beta Stages for marketing purposes, or make silent updates, no matter.

If you are not a customer you should be using a trial version (which will probably expire before we release the next beta version).

Hope this should make things clear.
