Good news that the beta of FF 12 is available

Please, would be possible to know if it will be available in beta 2 the saving or export to MP4 from an animated filter instead of only sequence images?

I know that you can use an external software to join the sequence images into a movie and if you use Mac this is automatic and very easy with QuickTime player, but would be better if it was already included in FF itself, thanks

Yes, this is one of the main features of FF12. You can import and export MP4 files natively, support for other formats is under active development.

This is a good start. There appears to be an issue with the codec (MPEG-4 part 2) and most browsers. The only browser that can read the mp4 is Safari on the Mac. Firefox and Edge can not read mp4's generated by FF12 on both Win and Mac. With that in mind, here is a 700x700 example of the default preset of Swirl Tile Animate, 6s@15fps, 1.7megabyte file

Rachel, mp4 files are meant to be played by a video player, not by a browser. We tested the resulting files with most major video players but we can't guarantee compatibility with other types of software.

Fair enough. How much flexibility will there be on the mp4 output? Bitrate, codec choice (h.264?), etc??

I agree that I think that they should be able to be played by a video player software, and if you want that it should be possible to make that the video can be seen in a browser directly (without any link from YouTube or vimeo or other) it should the website that should provide the needed software to do it

I have tried to upload some videos I have done (not with FF) to some websites I have learned that there are different ways to do it and it also depends of what browser you use

I do not say that FF could not offer a website compatible format, I mean that it should be at least mp4 and then you make it work in the website or page needed

I think that the best could be that it supports mp4 with h. 264 that as far as I know is now the best optimized codec with best quality
