Hello,
I just got an email for the FF6 and very likely I will upgrade from FF5.
Question: Is “filter downloading†in FF6 any better than the FF5

What do you mean with "any better" ?
What would you like that is changed and made better?
do you mean that there could be less errors when downloading filter from website?

I use the Filter Forge Librarian 5 and it is very convenient way to download filters.
Well I had many problem using the two free download methods so I bought the FFL5.
As it turns out they allow me to download only the older filters and not any filters newer than the date of purchase. They say FFL5 is an archival and that is why thay limit the download of only older filters.
So I am hoping and asking if FF6 has an improved downloader.

Filter downloading in FF6 has not changed as compared to FF5 and won't change by the release version.

I think that what you mean is not that FF could be better, you need to ask if the Librarian 6 software will be better instead, as it does not depend on FF 6 to download in he way you explain

My question is correct. If the FF6 filter downloader was as convenient and robust as the Filter Forge Librarian 5 I would be very happy. It is just that current free FF filter download method I previously tried really messed up my system. Likely my fault. But in any case yes, I am afraid to try them again and this is why I am hoping for an improvement in the FF6 filter downloader.
Yes I have inquired about allowing the Filter Forge Librarian 5 access to all the FF5 filters. So far they have not shown any willingness to lift the restriction. I am considering buying a second Filter Forge Librarian 5 license with that will allow me to get the newer filter. Very expensive proposition just to get a years worth of FF5 filters.
