I do not know if this may be a bug or there is something wrong, or this is the way it works and you must attach the color control external to the group and not inside, so this I am asking this here

Why happens this?

When I try making a group with a color control inside that has the "allow images" activated and is showing an image, when you group it with other components, then automatically the color control is deactivated the "allow images" if it was active.

So to be able to have again the images allowed inside the group you have to attach and external color control

If you ungroup this group you find what I have said that the color control does not have activated the "allow images"

And I mean that maybe this is NOT a bug or something wrong is because when entering the group and trying to activate again the "allow images" it is NOT there anymore

So maybe the only way to use color control with allowed images is by using it externally to the group

I know that they have removed the ability to use external images as overrides, but it seems that also is not possible to use external images inside a group and must be done from outside

Sorry to bump this again, but I have searching in the forum about this topic to have more information but have not found any related information about this.

Please, anyone knows something about this?

Thanks

It seems logical to only have the top level controls be active in the filter. All connected controls inside a group are really just placeholders for external group controls, not control components in themselves. So it would not make sense to have group internal controls that allow external images because the external group control input would override it in any case.

In other words, an attached control component inside a group always creates an input for the (outside of the) group and that (external) input always overrides the internal control component. So it would be redundant to have all the same options (such as "allow external images") for both.

OH, thanks very much for explaining it very well, now I understand it right and I agree with you that seeing it as you have told, is true that is the logical and right way.

Sorry that I tought that if you already have put it inside you would not need again to put it outside too, but I agree with you that inside is the placeholder to put then after outside.

Thanks for solving it in a good way.
