Good afternoon, all.
Ok, so, the following steps: 1. Load any image in Gimp 2.8.2 2. Export (Save) the image in Gimp as BMP: Choose a file name and the file type (Windows BMP image (*.BMP)), click the Export button. 3. At this stage you got a small pop up window: Expand the "Advanced Options" section (mouse click on +). 4. Change the default of 24 bits to 32 bits X8 R8 G8 B8 and click Export button. Close Gimp. 5. Open the BMP image in Filter Forge 4.002 (I have 32 bits Windows 7 SP1 and standalone Filter Forge). You should get the error message: "Unknown bitmap storage format in file '[...]z.bmp' (0 was expected)." Windows 7, IrfanView 4.35 and most other image utilities I have installed on my laptop are doing fine with those BMP images - when they accept to load that format -, except Apple QuickTime PictureViewer 7.6.5, which loads the image but probably has some issue with some colors. Cya ps: I guess the documentation related to the new Groups feature has not been written yet for the Help tool and that it is not a bug? (since no group-related document can be found in the Contents, Index and Search tabs - I typed group and groups in the search field. The content of the 'Filter Editor' entry listed in the index tab does not mention groups either). |

This is not a bug in Filter Forge but a limitation of a third-party library that we use. We may consider updating it someday.
No, Groups are not documented — this has been mentioned in the first line of the bug list. |
