Oh, Mac permissions, again... Unfortunately we're stuck with an older version of the Mac installer because a newer version doesn't have the functionality we need.
Totte, could you recommend a good third-party installer? Something similar to Inno Setup we use on Windows. |

Check out BitRock, seems to work very well for DAZ, and is cross platform as well.

To elaborate on this bug a little (since I just hit it -- on the v3 install as well as the v4 install) the installer seems to be creating some files with the user ID '506', where the standard 'root' user is 0 and the first user to be given a login on the machine is 501. My guess, then, is that on your development/packaging machine, the affected folders and files were created by the sixth user on the computer, and the packager didn't change the owner to "root" before the bundle was created. People with six or more users on their computer will see no problems, but anyone with less than six user will see the "unknown" user have ownership.
I'd wager that changing the ownerships on the devel machine and recreating the installers would fix it. (The permission, in unix terms, of 700 / -rwx------ , on the directory is probably a separate issue.) Files affected in the v4 installer: /Applications/Filter Forge 4 /Applications/Filter Forge 4/FFCmdRenderer Files affected in the v3 installer: /Applications/Filter Forge 3/ /Applications/Filter Forge 3/InstallPlugins /Applications/Filter Forge 3/license.rtf |
