So I double click the group to lock the preview.. ouch! FF enters the group "filter".. oh well.. I click cancel in the lower corner to exit group.. OUCH FF exits main filter completely
Am I the only one "tricked" by this?

I knew people will get mad at this
Here's the dilemma with the double-click: On one hand, we have an entrenched user habit that double-click locks the preview. But on the other hand, not having the double-click entering the groups just felt wrong to me -- I kept expecting them to open when double-clicking them.
The current solution: release it, see how people react and what they suggest, implement the best suggestion.
As for the Cancel and Save buttons, yes, I was also affected by this. At the moment I don't have any good ideas on how to resolve it. Any suggestions?

My suggestion:
1. Change Lock/unlock preview to Ctrl+click (Cmd+click on Mac), as double clicking is generally used for opening.
2. Can you replace the "save" button with "back" when you are in Group edit mode? Then both "Back" and "Cancel" exit Group edit, but won't close the filter. I would imagine people want to save their filters only at the root view.

Another idea: make the eye icon on the component header clickable (and somehow indicate the clickability of the area when Lock Preview is off).
And a general note: I'd like to hear how new users of Filter Forge react to this dual double-click function. They don't yet have the habit so their feedback may be interesting.

I wouldn´t mind locking preview being changed, as long as it´s not any fingerbreaking-three-button-need-an-extra-arm combination
Make the eye icon clickable would be a good solution I guess. Maybe offer both, shortcut and icon?

Change Lock/unlock preview to Ctrl+click |
Ctrl- and Shift-clicks are already taken by multi-selection.

I like the idea of using the eye icon: The Eye icon indicates that the component is preview, eye + locker indicates locked The "double-click" preview lock "convention" is really unique to FF afaik, so I could get used to the icon instead

I don't see the "lock preview" as necessarily requiring a mouse-button equivalent.
Especially in the light of these groups, my view is that there is no other choice but to use double-click as the UX to open that group.
For locking the preview, having a context-menu item (for discoverability) and a keyboard equivalent to be applied and available when a single component is selected (for quick access for "power" user who require it frequently) would seem appropriate and sufficient.

Hi I am a new user and I think that the eye icon is a good idea, but how about change it to a lock? That would make the icon pretty much self explanatory and perhaps make it appear depressed while it is in lock mode.
I think that a double click to open the group would be the most intuitive.
