Hello everyone. I am encountering the same problem as everyone else. I recently updated Photoshop to 2022 23.0.1 on my iMac running Monterey 12.0.1. I am not even sure how long ago it happened, or in what version of Photoshop it happened, but the Filter Forge plugin is no longer appearing under my "Filters" menu in Photoshop.
To try to fix this problem, I shut down Photoshop, and then I reinstalled Filter Forge 9. Then I rebooted Photoshop. That did not fix the problem. Next, I followed the tip that was posted here earlier. In other words, I made an alias of the "Filter Forge 9 universal.plugin" file, and I placed it in Photoshop's "Plug-ins" folder. Then I rebooted Photoshop. The Filter Forge plugin is STILL not appearing under my "Filters" menu in Photoshop. Has anyone found a better solution to this problem? For the record, I am not interested in using some archaic method of copying and pasting layers into Filter Forge, and then copying back into Photoshop. That method totally defeats the purpose of having a FF plugin in the first place. I simply want the FF plugin to work as intended. Yes, I could email the Filter Forge staff regarding this latest problem, but we all know what they are going to say: "Spend more money and upgrade." Thanks, but no thanks! It seems that you folks are just about money, money, money. You fix things, but then you expect us to pay more money to get the fix. We shouldn't have to pay for bug fixes when the problem is on YOUR end, in YOUR software! I have been using the paid version of Filter Forge on my iMacs since version 3.006 ten years ago. I have paid for every single upgrade, and then some. I am sick and tired of dishing out money year after year for something which no longer works as intended. So, again, if anyone knows how to get the Filter Forge 9 plugin working in Photoshop 2022 23.0.1 on an iMac running Monterey 12.0.1, please advise. Thank you in advance! WordWeaver |

Thanks for the suggestion, but if you re-read my original post, you will see that I already tried copying an alias of the FF plugin into Photoshop's "Plug-ins" folder. It did not work, and I tried several times.
Or am I misunderstanding what you did? At any rate, I just installed the Filter Forge 11.002 beta, and it IS working in Photoshop 2022 23.0.1 on my iMac running Monterey 12.0.1. Of course, it is only fully functional for 30 days. However, as I said, I am tired of dishing out money, year after year, for ten years, just to get a working version of Filter Forge. By this time, I think I deserve a FREE upgrade to Filter Forge 11. I am not holding my breath. ![]() WordWeaver |

Experiencing the same problem here. Please fix this problem so we can continue to use Filter Forge. We paid for this and should be able to use version 9 if that is what we want. Dont force us to upgrade with this method. We should want to upgrade because of new features and not because you make earlier versions not usable. That is bad customer service and only leads to us looking for alternative solutions.

Peturr, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. After investing so much money in their product over the past ten years, I am finally wise to their game. Trust me; they have no intentions of ever fixing version 9. That is not their business model. As I said above, rather than fix bugs in current versions, they want to basically force us to pay them to fix bugs in newer versions, which we must then purchase. I am sick of their scam, and sick of their constant emails to pressure me into purchasing a newer version. I have already totally removed their software from my hard drive. I advise you to do the same, and take the loss. It's a shame, because it really is a good plugin.
