Filters appear in active window...but don't apply to image

Hello!
I just downloaded a trial of Filter Forge...it looks amazing from youtube videos!

My issue...when I open either via PhotoshopCC or standalone, I can choose filters, but they don't apply or interact with my original
image. Is it the program, or me?

Actually effects are working superbly...but no luck yet with textures (again they don't seem to apply). Not sure what I'm doing or not doing...

The filters that display the lifesaver, ladybug..etc.....Those are the image effect filters and require some type of image to work or apply an effect to an image....
The filters that do not have this are texture type of filters that do not require an image or do not apply an effect or texture to an image....

ahhhhhhhhh...big thanks CFandM!

I'm so loving this program (wish I started using it forever ago). I'm trying beta5. Seems crashy...I've tried it both standalone and with PS CC (again that could be my settings...since I also noted it with 4 that I was trying as well)
