Mac trial won't install with security set to "Anywhere"... Third time asking about this...and no response from anyone at FF... You guys care about getting new customers...right??? 
Install instructions describing how settings should be for install might be helpful, eh??? Steve

The trial installs correctly for us and for other Mac users.
If you want a more detailed reply you could describe in detail what doesn't work for you, and on what OS version.

Wait: installing software and using certain filters are two different concepts, please don't mix them. I admit certain filters don't work correctly under Mac, with some of them having scriptless versions that do work.

Hello, just a really regular user passing by.
I remember some technical thing happening with Paint HDRtist but that might have been me reading stuff wrong on the forums. I just checked out Crayon Master just to see what you mean... It seems to work fine. I'm able to export stuff out as usual. 
You might wanna be more descriptive in the issues actually. I'm a mac user, FF installs normally here but if there are things that pop up with a warning, you might wanna just describe the problem. Pretty sure people are trying to help, they just wouldn't know what's wrong.
If it's something to do with the read/write (aka permissions) issue, there's a solution. (I'm not support btw!  )

I think that, as Skybase have written above, if you want that the FF team can help you, it would be very good to tell exactly all the steps that you are doing, and then where it goes wrong, and what happens, and if you get an error message, what is it, and describe more the problem in the way you can to be able to reproduce it and so they could now better what is happening to be able to help you.

AND is not at all the same to have problems installing the Filter Forge software than "installing" or loading FF filters into the FF software, it is a very different thing.
Also in the same way, you should describe step by step why the filters do not "install" as you say, what happens and what is wrong? |

The initial download and install of the Mac version... Don't know the Mac OS version...downloads...then won't install with prefs set to anywhere... Is there a list of how Mac settings should be before downloading and installing???
This is for a friend with a Mac who can't get the trial installed... Steve

NO, it doesn't.
I downloaded FF3 a couple days ago and the FF4 beta just now. Both installed with the FF folder set with idiotic permissions. That is never "correctly" in anyone's book.
The first action a user makes after installing should not be to correct a poorly configured install.
FF isn't a free or cheap app; it is an amazingly powerful app well worth its price. Please fix this amateurish installer bug.
P.S. It would also be nice if FF3 or 4 wouldn't crash PS C5 every time.
