Every time I try 'Mess Painter' as a PS (CS6) Plug-in it crashes both PS and FF.

Help desparetly needed.

Thanks.

Does it happen with other filters? What Filter Forge version do you use?

The issue seems to only happen with Mess Painter. I am running FF 3.014, Pro on Mac OS 10, and PS CS6.

It seem curious to me that the filter in question works fine on my MacBook running the same OS and version of FF.

Even more curious is that I received an email in response to my report of the error that states, "Thanks for reporting this error. This is a known problem, the developers are working on it. We'll add your report to the statistics for this problem." Sounds like a smoke screen response to me...why keep Mess Painter (or another filter) available for download knowing that it is buggy.

My guess is that the Mess Painter file is broken somewhere in the library. Is it possible to find it, delete it and re-download?

FF is a wonderful bit of software but I'm hoping for the day when problems like this don't happen so often.

Seems like you'll have to wait. I don't think Mess Painter is broken, it's more of the software itself. smile:(

I understand that Mess Painter is not 'broken'...it works on my MacBook! I am wondering if something happened to the filter when I was downloading and it was not installed properly.

Mess Painter was one of the filter that I downloaded PRIOR to installing the entire FF library from CD/DVD.

Gordon, our developer is testing this filter at the moment. I'll let you know about the workaround as soon as he has it.

Djekki...solution at hand! Eureka!

Guessing that the filter file (Mess Painter) encountered an unpleasant download/install, I simply went back to the FF website and downloaded the filter again. What could I lose, right? And, guess what, IT WORKS NOW.

Maybe tech support should suggest this as an initial remedy. Anyway, thanks for the attention to this issue.
