Most of the filters have disappeared, both the ones that came with the program and the ones I downloaded. They seem to be in the Library, but they don't appear. I've tried to attach a screenshot of the panel but it doesn't seem to work.
Any ideas?

what you have done BEFORE the filters disappeared ? What you were doing that this have happened ?
I suposse that the filters have disappeared from the filters list.
As far as I know, this can only happen if you move or change the filter library.

Every so often some filters from the library get moved/dumped into the *My Filters* folder area (or always if you alter them and then -save- the changes). So pop into that folder, and scroll down/up, you'll most likely find them in there.

I tried to post a screenshot, but it didn't work - to show the problem.
In the top left-hand panel, where you select filters, they are grouped - frames, creative, distortions, etc. All but one of those is no longer there.
What was I doing before it happened? Sleeping. It was OK one day, not OK the next. To my knowledge I did not move or change anything.
I found the library - it has a long list of filters, but nothing appears in the filter list panel.
I had upgraded to FF3 about 6 weeks ago, but did not uninstall FF2. For the last couple of weeks,FF2 worked better in Photoshop than FF3. Now FF2 won't even open most of the time.
Should I uninstall everything and start again?

Why did not work ? It must be under 600 x 600 pixels or 250 KB, and you will be able to attach the file of the screenshot to the post. Also must be in Jpeg or gif format.
Please look at the screenshot I have put below

FF2 has NO action over FF3, is does not matter if FF2 is installed or not, do not get in the way of FF3, and the same for FF 3 over FF 2.
If you want to uninstall, you must first make a backup of all the filter you have already in the filter forge library.

This is strange and weird that FF have lost the filters fr om one day to another, and as you say without you doing nothing or change anything.

You say you have found the library. Where have you have found the library, wh ere is located and what name it has ?
Before uninstalling make a backup of this AND also the "my filters" library if you have any there and "My presets" if you have any there.

Most of the categories disappeared. Only My Filters is left, and I didn't put anything in there.

I found the library by going from Finder>Go(with option ) Library>Application Support>FF3>System>Library.
Then I selected everything in the Library and opened them. The filters then appeared in FF3, but all in one place - not sorted in categories.
I'm glad they're back, but can I put them in categories?
Thanks for your help!!

If the categories have disappeared, it is really a great mistery and very weird
How could the categories disappear ?????
Then if this is what happens, I would really recommend and suggest that you make a backup of the filters you have on your FF 3 library and then uninstall and reinstall FF 3 again.
If this does not work, uninstall again and make sure you delete all the FF 3 folders of the library and then install again and copy back the library filters.

Before you uninstall everything, try downloading a filter from the library. Maybe this would update the filter categories.
It could be a good idea to back up your filter and presets before you do that.

I just tried this. I think we're about halfway there.
Could someone please post a list of the default categories? I tried to read the screenshot posted above, but couldn't read it.
Thanks!

If you have tried many different things and none of them work, and if you do not know why they happen, and even are weird like your problem, the best possible solution is to make a backup of the filters and then resinstall FF.
Glad that you have finally solved it.
