I have Photoshop CS3 on a G5 using OS 10.4.11. I tried to open Filter Forge through the filter menu. It is not functioning. I get the spinning wheel ad infinitum.

Have you tried to run FF as a stand-alone app?

Hi!
I couldn't get the plug-in to run in CS4, either, until I put a copy of the whole Filter Forge folder in the CS4 Plug-ins folder. Now it's running without any difficulties. ![]() Which makes me very happy. I've been waiting years for this! It was running as a stand alone, but once again, it had all its parts with it. (I'm running Mac OS 10.5.6 on a G5, 2x3 Quad-core Intel Xeon, with 4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM RAM, with an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT graphics card, by the way.) |

For Pc, just the Filter Forge.8bf is required (to be in the Photoshop plug-ins folder) I believe, but yeah, the whole (FF) folder would sure do the trick.

----And I hear you there, I literally dreamed of FF for easily 8-10 years before it was made, having come from EA's make your own pinball machine layout in the late 80's or so, and more recently Reaktor (audio) and Synthedit etc., where you use a graphic modular environment to create audio filters/effects/synths etc. ![]() jffe Filter Forger |

StudioDigitrope, it was indeed a bug. It's now fixed, the fix will be rolled out with the next update (we'll probably have an update before the end of the year).

Robin Wood,
please run the following from the console: cd /Applications/Filter\ Forge/ sudo ./InstallPlugins Sudo will ask you for an admin password, as InstallPlugins requires elevated privileges. Please report the result here. Thanks. |

Hi GMM,
Ummm.... from Console? Console appears to just do logs. Those looked like Terminal commands to me, so I tried running those lines in Terminal, instead. Several times. This is what I got.
I hope this helps! |

Glad there will be a fix soon. I'm looking forward to trying Filter Forge. Robin Wood, I tried placing the whole folder in the plugins folder and it still did not work for me.

Downloaded the OSX beta today and same problem. Nothing shows in Photoshop and the standalone does not launch. I'm using a G5 with Tiger. Just wondering, is it intended to work with versions of Photoshop earlier than CS3?

edgework, here's the list of supported host apps:
http://www.filterforge.com/download/hosts.html CS2 is the lowest supported version of Photoshop. |

Okay, so I'll just have to use it at work. Easy enough.
What about the stand-alone version? |

I just downloaded the latest MAC version. It works fine. I'll be doing some more testing and let you know if I find any more bugs. How do I arrange to get my free copy when it comes out, since I found the bug?
