You need to change the access rights for the Filter Forge folder. Please do the following:

1. Click the Filter Forge folder in Applications.
2. Select 'Get Info' -- a pane will open.
3. If your user name is there in the user list, set the permissions to 'Read and write'. If your user name isn't listed click the '+' button and add the user to the list, then set the permissions to 'Read and write'. You might need to click the small lock icon at the bottom of the pane and enter an admin password to unlock the permissions box.
4. After you finish setting the permissions, don't forget to click the lock icon again -- to 'lock' the choice.

When attempting to access the permissions from the 'Get Info' page the user permissions would not update and were stuck in a state of permanent refreshing, even with the lock icon open.
I then tried installing a second time. The installer was then able to clean up the permissions and make the folder accessible. My DMG was a couple of weeks old so this might have been fixed in the time since I downloaded, but thought I would mention it.
