ff is now crashing when i try to open. no problems on my iMac.
using a new macbook pro, 10.7, safari, etc.

yep,
scripted filters have a problem on a mac and ff is working on an update, which is fine. my problem is i can't open ff in order to delete the "bad" filters. i uninstalled/reinstalled....no luck. i'm curious to know if there's a workaround for this.

hey gmm,
never mind....fixed it. had to delete the "hidden" library folder. is there any way to tell if a filter is scripted before downloading?

You can check the filter comments before downloading. Usually someone has already complained if the filter is scripted and doesn't work on Mac.

Tips to FF team:
Check keydown at start of FF, if it's for example <space>, default to a safe filter to avoid the crash-start-repeat loop, or remember what filter that crashed and avoid starting up with that filter active again.
