Both standalone and as a plugin (PS CS4). It used to work fine, but I hadn't used it in some time, and now it crashes every time I try to launch it. If it helps, the last selected filter is "Van Gogh Flow".
Here is the bug report (from plugin launch): Operating system: Mac OS 10.5.8 Physical memory: 4096 MB Number of processors: 2, available: 2 Processor info: Intel® Core2 Duo CPU P8600 @ 2.40GHz, ~2385 MHz Filter Forge universal 2.012.22491.45506 Release-10.5, November 03, 2011 08:46 [Mon Nov 28 01:03:55 2011 -0800] Bundle path: /Applications/Filter Forge 2/Filter Forge.app Critical exception occured at thread 0xb04ba000 'RenderingMgr 0x19ad800/1': <XFW::Exception> Application encountered an unrecoverable critical error and will be terminated. Ok it seems that "Van Gogh Flow" might have been the cause of the crashing. Fortunately I was able to switch filters using the "Open in Filter Forge" feature on your web site and that seems to have solved the issue.

Unfortunately the Van Gogh filter is known to crash Filter forge under Mac OS.

This looked like a really neat filter, but unfortunately it's crashed repeated and now has completely screwed up loading of Filter Forge on my iMac Quad with 16gb of member.
I see this filter has been problem before. I'm aware of the LUA problem which isn't really the writer's problem. But this filter ought to be flagged as death on Macs. Nothing quite that dramatic, but a warning that it is likely to cause crashes on Macs. At this point, I'm trying to sort out removal. I think the moderator has the right language. "Unfortunately the Van Gogh filter is known to crash Filter forge under Mac OS." I would not have downloaded it had there been a warning like that. jmc56 |

Thanks to a user named Inujima my FF can at least load without Van Gogh crashing it. He's posted a link on another thread which allows use of the filter on Macs without crashing.

GMM moderator,
Pls tell us what to do to either delete this filter or get our FF working. We bought the FF and we need to use becasue of how beautifull it is and such shame that you keep such filter that ruins everything. Pls help us. |

I figured out how to solve it. Unfortuanetly by deleting the filter itself. The way to do it is when it prompts to report the bug accept and select reopen. The problem will still be there but don't click anyway except on the tool bar. Select filter>locate filter> drag it to the trash and the software will work.
Try it and hope it work with you, it did with me. |

sherif, you can delete the filter that is causing troubles and use the non-scripted version posted above.
