As the only important thing for Filter Forge is just the raw power of the CPU , I have seen a new computer that would surely would fit perfectly for using Filter Forge with REALTIME SPEED for preview and rendering using ANY FILTER.
This is a new Multi-Core computer, so FF will be able to benefit from it because is optimized to get the most from all the cores. Although there are two problems with this new computer, it is a "bit" expensive and takes a huge lot space ![]()
I think that having 10 petaflops of computer power would be enough for filter forge 3.0 to preview and render in realtime speed ![]() In comparison: my Intel i7 2600 has 74 Gigaflops = 0,074 Teraflops and converting it, the K computer = 10.000 Teraflops you can see a photo and the full news in this link here |

Filter Challange everyone:
Make a filter that bring the allmighty "K computer" to it's knees, makes him cry to mama, and wet it's pants with 1000 volts! Winner gets a peanut! |

I have seen something that makes what I have said here impossible.
The K computer (and all the most powerful and fastest computers) run ONLY under the Linux OS, and as there is NO linux version of FF, it will not run. Unless there could be a way to run in some way Windows or Mac software in Linux, which I do not think is possible. So My idea of using this K computer for FF is not possible ![]()
