I didn't see this posted anywhere here so I thought I'd go ahead... sorry if it's already been discussed. PMG Worldwide is offering MessiahStudio5 at a great price in what they're calling an 'experiment'. $10 for the basic version (regularly $499), and $40 for pro (regularly $1195). Check the link above for all the details... a great opportunity for others who want pro animation/rigging/rendering software but don't have much money. I haven't really used Messiah... played with a demo of an older version but didn't really get into it as I couldn't afford the full version. At this price I couldn't resist and got myself a pro copy and another for a friend. |

Seems like a good price to me. Do you currently use any software like this? If so, which do you use? $1200 is more than I'll spend on software, even if it is good software (I'm poor... and also cheap). Selling it for $40 ($10 for basic) will give people a chance to use the software who would normally not be able to (well, legally anyway). Maybe you're not interested, but I think it's a good deal and so I purchased a license. It'll pair very well with Blender (the only good 3d program I use/can afford). Anyway, to anyone who's at all interested in this deal... get in on it fast and spread the word. The only catch to the deal is that noone actually gets their license until PMG has reached their "goal"... whatever that is (they have a progress bar on their site... check the link in my first post). It's over 75% now and hopefully won't be long to hit 100%. Worst case is they don't reach the goal and everyone gets their money back (though if you check their forums noone there expects the goal to not be reached). To me, $40 really doesn't seem like much to gamble with either way... and if it's too much then get the basic version for $10 ![]() Oh.. check out the gallery there to see some of what the software can do... http://projectmessiah.com/x6/gallery.html There's also a bunch of videos which show various features and some tutorials... http://projectmessiah.com/x6/videos.html |

there's an old saying that when a thing sounds too good to be true, watch out! $40 for a $1200 program? and this no giving out of license keys till we reach our goal? boy, that sounds so much like a carney scan i cant believe it. i played a carney game once and the whole thing was to let me think i was winning as the numbers got higher and higher and closer to the ultimate goal, but to play each step to take another turn you had to pay him again. that line bar moving to the right reminds me of that sooooo much! i've never heard of this program, never seen such a deal on this type of software and cant believe anyone's paying them anything.
but, on the other hand, they could be doing a loss leader type of thing, where they get X number of folks to sign up, which in turn they hope gives them some good reviews and good word of mouth and that there maybe are extra add-ons they hope to sell to those that do sign up. so, maybe it's legit. i hope so. but, caveat emptor, folks. look before you buy. find others that are actually using this thing and ask questions. how long have they been around? where are they based? what's their mother's maiden name and anything else that might be appropriate. it just sounds too good to be true! If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I've heard from people using it, previous versions, and one guy said something like this:
"They released a new version. How can they let the world know that? They can purchase expensive commercials in all pro magazines and on all pro websites for millions of dollars, or they do this viral marketing campaign, sell it almost free and only if the word spread wide enough." Compare this with the classic 50-70% off FilterForge is running. - I never expected the Spanish inquisition |

yeah it's legit... started as a plugin for lightwave in the late 90's - corel was giving away paintshop pro X just before they released the new version, so you'd get into it and buy later version in the future ...... ff obviously tries the same tactic ........ the consumer wins and they get a percentage comming back and upgrading

Yeah, this deal and the company offering it are legit.
They've been around for a while, but the software has been out of my reach due to its price. At $40 it wasn't a tough choice to buy even with this strange 'experiment' they're running... worth a gamble. Whether or not we'll get our license in the end remains to be seen, but I can't see why pmG would try to screw anyone. I imagine that doing all this and then not giving any licenses would do a lot of harm to their company. It's really a pretty clever marketing tactic... and a great deal for anyone who wants the sofware right now. |

Yep..The net does make it a whole lot easier for advertising in viral marketing...... Takes me back to when Bryce2 was giving away in mags as well asLifeforms They gave away the software in hopes that some will purchase the updates... Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

i understand the big discount as a loss-leader. what i dont understand is why they dont give out license keys if the whole thing is legit. what are they going to do if they decide they dont like how it's going, give the money back, pretend like the whole thing didnt happen and just keep the money, or what? that's the part that raised alarms with me the most.
but, i am glad some of you are familiar with this software and i do hope it works out. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Quite the skeptic, eh Kraellin?
![]() It's understandable, but have you checked into this at all outside this forum? It does sound like an unbeliveable deal, but really it makes sense from pmG's perspective. Why aren't they giving out licenses until the goal is met? To add incentive to spread the word about the deal and get it over faster. Seems to be working out well... better than pmG expected (the bar is over 95% now). Again though, if they don't reach the goal then everyone gets a refund. Oh, by the way, in case you buy and end up not liking the software you are allowed to sell/transfer to someone else. Did anyone here get in on this? |
