Fossil fuels have always been a dominant source of energy and power for the world. And in this category, Oil and Gas holds a major share. It is believed that in the coming years, the worldwide consumption of oil will increase to 30 million barrels higher than are consumed daily today.

The Oil & Gas Investment are bound to hold a great deal of promise for the investors in the future. Because of this, oil and gas speculations continue to be the focus of the investment market. Moreover, the returns can be expected really quickly. It is believed that investors can expect to see returns as soon as 60 days of a well hitting.

As the demand for energy resources continue, there is a shift towards the renewable resources like the Solar, Wind, and Ocean Turbine etc. But the demand for oil and natural gas is here to stay. Besides its usage as fuel, petroleum is also used as a by-product when mixed with other non-hydrocarbons. So the oil and gas industry is all set to expect a continuous demand for many years.

Any stockbroker will give you the long version of why not to put your money into it.....short version, OPEC controls and manipulates price point on a whim, companies still falsely claiming to be recouping losses from Katrina and will now claim that new restrictions from BP spill cutting into bottom line, Oil and gas companies on the verge of being regulated by the government due to collution practices in seasonal gouging, etc etc etc.....basically just too unstable and risky to invest in it....

Hmm, good points. OPEC is certainly a mess when it comes to overseas oil. I don't follow much of politics, I just don't have the time (or interest really)

the thing with gas and oil is that they are commodities and as such, they trade on the commodities markets, like the chicago board of trade: http://www.cmegroup.com/ .
so, it really doesnt matter (to traders) if the price goes up or down. they make money no matter which way it moves... well, the good ones do, anyways.

but, our spammer here seems to be trying to point us to investments in the actual companies that drill for these things and points out that one can really hit it big in such things. however, he/she doesnt point out how many wells are dry and never pay a cent and in fact lose great amounts of money to investors. and, as these commodities dry up, the chance of hitting it big will get even less.

on the other hand, as any commodity gets more rare, the prices go up, often skyrocketing as speculators jump into things, so a well that does hit is going to pay off even more in the future, at least while we're still so dependent on these things.

i heard an estimate years ago that there was about 300 years left of fossil fuels. but that was based on a much smaller population and countries that hadnt even started to industrialize. china is industializing at a mad rate now. there are now more cars than bicycles in china and as we outsource more and more jobs, other nations will go the same route as japan and then taiwan and then hongkong (not a country) and so on. i'm old enough to have seen the cyle of 'made in japan' and then 'made in taiwan' and 'made in hong kong' and now 'made in china'. it wont be too long before we see 'made in india'. the point of all this being, the world is running out of fossil fuels. investing in oil and gas exploration and development is very risky! but, if you're lucky, you could hit it big... and i could win the powerball lottery tomorrow, too smile:)

Fossil Fuels are pretty rubbish. I decided to keep warm last winter by burning all my ammonites. Rubbish, they wouldn't even catch, and the Icthosaur was no better..
